 3 TIPS

There are 3 main important things to keep in mind while taking a “good” quality photo of a pet or individual in general!

  1. Natural Lighting - Take the photo outside in daylight. An overcast day is perfect as it gives more gentle lighting

  2. Eye Level - Creating art from say a “fish eye” lens view can look distorted in art

  3. Headshot - I focus on headshots as I prefer the face to be the main event and I focus on getting that lovely! So a photo of the head and shoulder is ideal!

Behind a great portrait is a great reference photo! A great reference is key to see your pets individual colours to see what makes them unique and standout.

To get a quality shot of an animal, it might help to record a video of them. On iPhones you can then choose a frame of that video that is still. Instead of having to take 100’s of photos, hoping for a good one.

With animals like dogs, you can get them to sit if they know how to or hold a treat for them behind the camera (works a treat! pun intended..) then have your photoshoot while they are staring at the treat waiting for it!

Feel free to send over as many pictures of your pet as you have! The more the merrier and the more helpful it will be!
